Plumbing Inspection in Ocala, FL
Ocala turns over at about the national middle: 26% of its owner households arrived in 2018 or later. Common enough that most people know somebody who has had a report, rare enough that few have read the exclusions in one.
The one-paragraph answer
26% of owners in Ocala bought in 2018 or later, an ordinary rate. Ordinary is where the usual mistake happens, which is assuming the inspection covered the plumbing: the buried lateral is excluded by both published standards.

When Ocala moved in
A middling turnover figure is the least informative kind, which is its own useful fact: it means you cannot infer much about any particular house from the town, and the report on the one in front of you is the only evidence that counts.
| Owner households in Ocala | Share of all owners |
|---|---|
| Moved in 2021 or later | 6% |
| Moved in 2018–2020 | 20% |
| Moved in 2010–2017 | 30% |
| Moved in before 2010 | 44% |
Source: US Census Bureau, American Community Survey 5-year estimates, table B25038 (tenure by year householder moved into unit), 2023 release. Universe: 68,997 occupied housing units, of which 45,883 are owner-occupied. This counts when the CURRENT occupant moved in, so it measures recent moves as a share of the housing stock — not a rate of sales per year.
What the inspection will not cover
Water conditioning systems are excluded by ASHI outright, along with lawn irrigation, fire suppression and clothes washer connections. None of that is an inspector cutting corners; it is the published boundary of the service.

What it is required to cover
The water heater is covered in more detail than most of the system: InterNACHI takes in the energy source, the venting connections, the temperature and pressure-relief valve, seismic bracing where it applies, and the labeled capacity. What it stops short of is operating any of it.
Worth ten minutes before you read your own report: everything the two standards require, in the order an inspector does it.
What to do about it
If you are selling, establish it before somebody else does. The same finding is worth more to a buyer who discovered it than to one who was told.
Before you accept a report, read what it did not have to cover against what it did. Then decide whether the drains outside need their own visit.
