What this site says about scope is quoted from two published standards rather than paraphrased from them.

The one-paragraph answer

An introduction, plus published information about what an inspection covers. PresalePipe inspects nothing, is no part of any agreement you make with an inspector, and says nothing about the condition of any particular property.

PresalePipe is a referral service, not a contractor or a home inspector. We connect homeowners and buyers with independent contractors. Contractors are required to hold whatever credential their state or municipality demands. Every state page sets out who licenses plumbers there and where to check, so you can confirm before work begins. We carry out no inspections and no work, we do not set prices, and we never charge homeowners anything — the contractors in our network pay us when we route them a call.

We are not the inspector and not the contractor

PresalePipe is a referral service. Any inspection or work is carried out by an independent party under an agreement between you and them. We are not a party to it, do not set prices, and do not supervise or guarantee the work.

We do not speak for either standards body

InterNACHI and ASHI publish the standards quoted throughout this site. We are not affiliated with either, and nothing here is their statement. Where we quote them we link the source, and the published standard governs over anything said here.

Everything on this site is general information drawn from published sources, named on the page where they are used. It is not an inspection of your property, and it is not advice about a transaction. Standards are revised, and figures reported by third parties are reproduced as published and may be superseded.
