Plumbing Inspection in Kewanna, IN
Roughly 17% of the people who own in Kewanna bought since 2018. A normal rate for a town this size, and normal is where the gaps in a standard inspection do their quiet work.
The one-paragraph answer
In Kewanna, 17% of owner-occupied homes have changed hands since 2018. Whichever side of a sale you are on, the exclusions decide what you know: a standard inspection stops at the visible plumbing and leaves the sewer lateral to a camera survey.

When Kewanna moved in
With turnover near the middle, roughly one owner in five or six arrived recently. For everyone else the last time the plumbing was examined by a third party was whenever they bought.
| Owner households in Kewanna | Share of all owners |
|---|---|
| Moved in 2021 or later | 1% |
| Moved in 2018–2020 | 16% |
| Moved in 2010–2017 | 22% |
| Moved in before 2010 | 61% |

Universe: 787 occupied housing units, of which 711 are owner-occupied. This counts when the CURRENT occupant moved in, so it measures recent moves as a share of the housing stock — not a rate of sales per year.
What the inspection will not cover
Visual means visual. Pipe inside a wall, under a slab or below grade is not observed, and neither standard asks anyone to open a sealed access panel to reach it. InterNACHI names polybutylene piping in its exclusions outright.

What it is required to cover
Both standards cover the interior drain, waste and vent system, and ASHI asks for the predominant material of the service, distribution and DWV pipes to be described. A report naming one material is describing the majority of the house, not every run in it.
Worth ten minutes before you read your own report: everything the two standards require, in the order an inspector does it.
What to do about it
Ask a contractor what would have to be opened up to answer the question, rather than asking for a number. A quote given without that step is a guess with a figure attached to it.
Ten minutes of reading covers it: what nobody was required to look at, what they were, and the drain run that is a separate instruction altogether.
