Plumbing Inspection in Haw River, NC

In Haw River, 21% of owner households moved in during 2018 or later — close to the middle of the towns we cover. Enough movement that inspections are routine, not enough that anybody treats them as routine.

The one-paragraph answer

In Haw River, 21% of owner-occupied homes have changed hands since 2018. Whichever side of a sale you are on, the exclusions decide what you know: a standard inspection stops at the visible plumbing and leaves the sewer lateral to a camera survey.

PresalePipe is a referral service, not a contractor or a home inspector. We connect homeowners and buyers with independent contractors. Contractors are required to hold whatever credential their state or municipality demands. Every state page sets out who licenses plumbers there and where to check, so you can confirm before work begins. We carry out no inspections and no work, we do not set prices, and we never charge homeowners anything — the contractors in our network pay us when we route them a call.

When Haw River moved in

At an ordinary rate of turnover, the housing here divides fairly evenly between homes inspected in the last few years and homes that have not been looked at since the previous sale, whenever that was.

This counts when the CURRENT occupant moved in, so it measures recent moves as a share of the housing stock — not a rate of sales per year.

What the inspection will not cover

Both standards state that an inspection is not technically exhaustive and covers readily accessible, visually observable systems. That sentence is not a disclaimer at the end of the report. It is the definition of what was bought.

What it is required to cover

The covered list is shorter than the excluded one and it is not thin. Every fixture run, every toilet flushed, the drain-waste-vent system described, the water heater and its venting examined, the shut-offs located. That is a real morning of work and it is worth knowing it happened.

The full covered list, and why the distinction between the two lists is the whole of reading a report properly.

What to do about it

Write down where the main water shut-off and the main fuel shut-off are. InterNACHI requires both locations to be described, and they are the two most useful lines in the document.

Everything above comes from documents you can read yourself: the exclusions, the requirements, and why a camera down the lateral is never part of it.
