Plumbing Inspection in Staley, NC

In Staley, just 12% of owner-occupied homes have changed hands since 2018. A low rate has a consequence people miss: an inspection is the one moment a house gets examined, and most of these have not had one recently.

The one-paragraph answer

Only 12% of owners in Staley arrived in 2018 or later, which makes this settled ground. Long tenure does not change the scope: a standard inspection covers what can be seen and operated, and the drain line beyond the house is excluded from it.

PresalePipe is a referral service, not a contractor or a home inspector. We connect homeowners and buyers with independent contractors. Contractors are required to hold whatever credential their state or municipality demands. Every state page sets out who licenses plumbers there and where to check, so you can confirm before work begins. We carry out no inspections and no work, we do not set prices, and we never charge homeowners anything — the contractors in our network pay us when we route them a call.

When Staley moved in

In a town this settled the report is likelier to matter to a seller than a buyer. Knowing what is there before somebody else looks is the whole of the advantage.

Universe: 852 occupied housing units, of which 500 are owner-occupied. This counts when the CURRENT occupant moved in, so it measures recent moves as a share of the housing stock — not a rate of sales per year.

What the inspection will not cover

Visual means visual. Pipe inside a wall, under a slab or below grade is not observed, and neither standard asks anyone to open a sealed access panel to reach it. InterNACHI names polybutylene piping in its exclusions outright.

What it is required to cover

The fixtures are a live test rather than a look. InterNACHI requires the inspector to run the water at every faucet, flush every toilet, and check that every sink, tub and shower drains; ASHI requires functional flow and functional drainage. If a fault shows up in ordinary use, this is the part of the inspection that finds it.

What is actually covered — because silence in a report means one thing about a covered system and something completely different about an excluded one.

What to do about it

Ask a contractor what would have to be opened up to answer the question, rather than asking for a number. A quote given without that step is a guess with a figure attached to it.

The published standards settle most arguments: excluded, covered, and the separate instruction for everything past the building.
