Plumbing Inspection in Tully, NY

Tully rarely changes hands — 16% of owner households arrived in 2018 or later. The upside is stability. The other side of it is that nothing has triggered an inspection in most of these houses for years.

The one-paragraph answer

Homes in Tully rarely change hands — only 16% of owner households moved in during 2018 or later — so an inspection there is usually of a house somebody has lived in for years. The buried sewer lateral is still outside both published standards of practice.

PresalePipe is a referral service, not a contractor or a home inspector. We connect homeowners and buyers with independent contractors. Contractors are required to hold whatever credential their state or municipality demands. Every state page sets out who licenses plumbers there and where to check, so you can confirm before work begins. We carry out no inspections and no work, we do not set prices, and we never charge homeowners anything — the contractors in our network pay us when we route them a call.

When Tully moved in

The consequence of a low turnover figure is not that the housing is worse. It is that far fewer people here have ever had a third party examine their plumbing, and the ones who did, did it a long time ago.

Universe: 2,055 occupied housing units, of which 1,780 are owner-occupied. This counts when the CURRENT occupant moved in, so it measures recent moves as a share of the housing stock — not a rate of sales per year.

What the inspection will not cover

Fire suppression and sprinkler systems are outside the inspection. In a house that has one, the system most likely to matter in an emergency is the one nobody was asked to look at.

What it is required to cover

The fixtures are a live test rather than a look. InterNACHI requires the inspector to run the water at every faucet, flush every toilet, and check that every sink, tub and shower drains; ASHI requires functional flow and functional drainage. If a fault shows up in ordinary use, this is the part of the inspection that finds it.

What is actually covered — because silence in a report means one thing about a covered system and something completely different about an excluded one.

What to do about it

If you are selling, establish it before somebody else does. The same finding is worth more to a buyer who discovered it than to one who was told.

Both standards are public. Start with the exclusions, then the obligations, and read the sewer scope separately — it is ordered on its own for a reason.
